Woodlawn is pleased to welcome the SPCA of Hancock County’s 9th Annual Pet Fair & Family Fun Day on Saturday, September 23 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The event will be held on the historic estate and the admission is free.
The SPCA is excited about Woodlawn being its Pet Fair Partner this year. According to SPCA director, Diana de los Santos, “This is the perfect way to introduce our shelter to more of Hancock County. We love the idea of having our event more centrally located. It also provides those enjoying Autumn Gold Days another event in the afternoon.”
The event will include a blessing of the animals, games for children and dogs, a pet parade, a craft fair, food and music. There will also be SPCA pets available for adoption. The tented event will be held rain or shine. Leashed pets are welcome. All of the proceeds will support the operation of the SPCA’s animal shelter on Bar Harbor in Trenton. For information about the event, please contact the SPCA at (207) 667-8088.
Woodlawn’s executive director, Joshua Torrance shared his enthusiasm for the event saying, “We look forward to partnering with the SPCA for its 9th Annual Pet Fair. The grounds of Woodlawn are pet friendly with thousands of dog walkers enjoying the property each year. Nixon Black, who bequeathed Woodlawn as a museum and public park, was a dog lover and his pride and joy was an award-winning St. Bernard named Hub King.”
