Free Museum tours for Hancock County Residents

August 27, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

To thank the local community for their support as Woodlawn has eased back into business after the pandemic closure and slow-down, Hancock County residents are invited to wrap up their summer with a free tour of the museum during the last weekend of August.

From 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, August 26-28, all are welcome. Call 667-8671 to reserve the tour and time of your preference. Docent led tours are limited to six people and are offered on the hour while we also have limited self-directed audio tours that are available through the day. Bring proof of County residence and come on over.

On Saturday & Sunday, the carriage barn will also open which is a self-directed display of the Black Family carriages and visitors will be able to look into the chain link fence to see the construction progress of the new barn.

The grounds are always open dawn to dusk for picnics and frisbee while the trails offer a cool, level walk through the woods around three loop trails of 2.2 miles. There is a story trail on the inner loop to enjoy for young children.
