The Longest Running Summer Antiques Show in the Nation
ELLSWORTH: Live music, wine, beer tastings, and an exciting lineup of dealers are a few of the offerings coming to the 2019 Ellsworth Antiques Show at Woodlawn. The Show, being held August 15 to 17 on the museum grounds, is sponsored by Boston Private Wealth and Skinner Auctioneers. This prestigious event is America’s longest running summer antiques show. It got its start in Ellsworth’s City Hall in 1937 and this marks the 14th year that the Show is being held at Woodlawn.
Thirty-one dealers of national, international and regional renown will be under the tent this August, some of whom are new to the Show this year. Known as one of the finest shows in the country, attendees will find antique jewelry, glassware, home furnishings, artwork and collectibles with a diversity of price points. According to Woodlawn’s executive director, Joshua Torrance, “The Show has a broad appeal that attracts more than 1,000 visitors annually who come to experience the longest running summer antiques show in the nation. The show is a destination for those looking to buy unique items and learn intriguing background stories from the dealers.” For the complete list of the 2019 dealers, visit woodlawnmuseum.org.
The Show kicks off with a gala Opening Night Party on Wednesday, August 14 from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Party goers are the first to see and purchase from the dealers. They will also enjoy local beer brewed for the event by the Airline Brewing Company of Amherst, Maine. Delightful hors d’oeuvres prepared and served by Chipper’s Restaurant from Hancock and the music of Grammy award winning pianist, Paul Sullivan, complete the summer evening experience. Tickets for the Opening Night Party are $50 per person / $90 per couple. After the Party, Chipper’s will be serving an elegantly prepared dinner under the tent. The Opening Night Party and Dinner tickets are $135 per person / $250 per couple or purchase a table for six for $650. Seating for dinner is limited to 75.
