ELLSWORTH: Woodlawn, including the grounds, trails and Black House will extend its closure to the public through May 13, 2019 to allow contractors to continue progress on the utility upgrade project. Signage is placed at the Surry Road (Rt. 172).
Woodlawn’s Executive Director, Joshua Campbell Torrance said, “Despite adverse weather conditions our construction crew continues to do a great job with the utilities project, however, we are finding we need extra time and must extend our closure a bit. Our community has been very supportive and we thank everyone for their patience.”
The installation of the new utilities is the first phase of the project to transform the Carriage Barn into an engaging, year-round space for student programs, large functions, changing exhibitions and other public programs. The upgrades also benefit The Black House with improved fire safety and security.
