Woodlawn Winter Carnival Saturday, February 12 — CANCELLED

Cardboard sled races, snowshoe trail race (short & long course), snow sculpture competition & new story trail. Skating pond will be open, if safe!

 

Ellsworth –  In partnership with Mother Nature, Ellsworth Public Library, 97.7 FM, and endorsed by the Ellsworth City Recreation Commission, Woodlawn will host a return of the Winter Carnival.  Three simple events with the skating pond open (if the ice is safe) for family enjoyment with a firepit, a food truck, and 97.7 broadcasting live! A welcome table and registration check-in will start at 9:30 am. All are welcome at this free community event.

  • Cardboard Sled competition starts at 10:30, check in from 9:30 – ONLY cardboard, tape and glue allowed!
  • Snow sculptures will be encouraged on the big field, to be judged at 1:30 pm, more information at check-in on the day;
  • Snow shoe race on the trails (bring your own) starting at 12:30; there will be an under 16 and over 16, long and short courses.
  • Skating pond will be open for family fun (if the ice is safe);
  • After the cardboard races, general sledding will resume on the hill!

Please leave your pets at home.  (If there is no snow on the 12, this event will be rescheduled for the 26.)
